Paralegal (Office of the General Counsel) at Leading International Law Firm

Salary Range: $71,000 - $100,350 annually

Experience: At least 3 years of legal support work, including document review, electronic discovery, and e-Discovery principles; at least 4 years' experience in a professional services or legal environment; and at least 2 years of paralegal experience.

Location: New York, NY (with global reach and extensive capabilities)

Role: Support the management of projects and tasks for the Office of the General Counsel, including document review and analysis, use of technology, and coordination with internal and external resources.

Responsibilities:

- Review and analyze documents for production or transfer, including for relevance and privilege, and electronically redact documents as needed.
- Perform manual and electronic searches using external systems and internal databases, including Relativity and Concordance, and assist with data analysis.
- Plan, schedule, implement electronic and paper collection and review of documents.
- Perform search term iterations for data culling and export.
- Review, select, categorize, organize, and maintain documents.
- Manage subpoena responses.
- Prepare and quality check productions.
- Provide support with the usage of the Firm's File Transfer Protocol (FTP) systems Axway Secure File Transfer and LiquidFiles.
- Coordinate with internal resources and outside vendor services to optimize cost, quality, and meet deadlines.
- Assist with review of Outside Counsel Guidelines, prepare client correspondence regarding proposed modifications to Outside Counsel Guidelines, and maintain a Client Terms database.
- Perform work in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Work overtime as required.
- Handle additional projects as assigned.

Proficiencies:

- Understanding of attorney-client privilege and attorney work-product protection.
- Advanced knowledge of Electronic Discovery and legal tech software, including but not limited to Relativity, Ringtail, Concordance, Summation, and DB/TextWorks.
- Advanced knowledge of e-Discovery principles, including the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) and principles, management and processing of electronically stored information (ESI), and the use of various ESI collection, management, review, and processing tools and applications.
- Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft technology, including Windows, Office Suite, Excel, Exchange, SQL, and SharePoint.
- Ability to analyze and manipulate data as needed for eDiscovery technology compatibility, analysis, and reporting.
- Basic knowledge of Information Governance and Data Governance concepts.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of data analysis and analytics.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously with a high degree of professionalism and client service orientation.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree (preferred); ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate (preferred).
- eDiscovery industry related certifications, preferred but not required.
- At least 3 years of legal support work, including document review, electronic discovery, and e-Discovery principles; at least 4 years' experience in a professional services or legal environment; and at least 2 years of paralegal experience.
- Strong understanding of eDiscovery technology and principles, including the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
- Familiarity with Microsoft technology and data analysis.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
