Job Summary:

Kanner & Pintaluga, a personal injury and property damage law firm, is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Nurse Paralegal to join our team in Boca Raton, FL. The Nurse Paralegal will work directly with our attorneys to assist with medical aspects of ongoing cases and prepare them for trial. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of litigation experience and be a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN).

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist attorneys in evaluating department procedures and workflow regularly
- Train staff on department procedures and systems
- Obtain, review, analyze, and prepare medical records and other pertinent documents
- Research, evaluate, and retain medical experts
- Maintain attorney's calendar and schedule depositions, meetings, and hearings
- Manage documents using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
- E-file legal documents in Florida's E-Portal System
- Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences
- Draft legal court documents, such as pleadings, motions, and subpoenas
- Communicate with clients and send correspondence
- Review and audit medical records, bills, and other documents
- Create full sets of medical records and bills
- Attend meetings and CME's with clients
- Screen medical records for TBI cases
- Assist attorneys with discussions of clients' injuries and medical treatment

Requirements:

- Full-time position with occasional after-hours work
- Regular travel to Boca Raton office
- 1+ years of litigation experience required
- RN or LPN required
- CLNC or LNCC credentials preferred
- Trial experience preferred
- Experience with e-filing in state and federal courts preferred
- Proficient in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Teamwork oriented
