Responsibilities:

- Assist attorneys in defending civil litigation matters in Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice
- Manage trial and discovery deadlines
- Schedule depositions, hearings, and legal proceedings
- Submit invoices and assist with billing
- Organize and maintain files
- Draft and prepare legal documents
- Analyze evidence and prepare summaries
- Issue and track subpoenas
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- 3+ years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in defense litigation for personal injury and medical malpractice
- Florida State Court filing and E-Filing experience required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands:

- Mostly sedentary position with occasional standing, walking, and reaching
- May require lifting up to 20 pounds
- Regular use of office equipment and computers
- Must be able to see, talk, and hear

Working Conditions:

- Indoor office environment with varying noise levels and temperatures
- May be interrupted from time to time

To be considered for this position, candidates must have at least 3 years of prior legal assistant experience supporting litigators in defense litigation, preferably in personal injury and medical malpractice defense. Florida State Court filing and E-Filing experience is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is also necessary. The ideal candidate will have critical thinking skills, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

This position is considered to be mostly sedentary, but may require occasional standing, walking, and reaching. The employee may also engage in bending, stretching, and other motions throughout the day. Lifting of supplies and materials up to 20 pounds may be required. The employee will also be using office equipment and computers on a regular basis and must be able to see, talk, and hear.
