A law firm seeks a Bankruptcy Litigation Associate Attorney for their Washington, DC office:

Job Overview:

Join a dynamic bankruptcy practice that encompasses both litigation and transactional work. The position offers career growth opportunities within a supportive and collegial environment. The successful candidate will handle a variety of bankruptcy, restructuring, and insolvency-related matters, with opportunities for remote work and business development.

Duties:

  • Take depositions and argue motions and contested matters in state and federal courts
  • Receive training opportunities with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Collaborate across practice groups and offices
  • Engage in business development activities with potential for partnership
  • Work remotely two days per week

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, and/or creditors’ rights litigation
  • Strong knowledge of Bankruptcy Code, local rules, UCC, and secured transactions
  • Significant experience in motions practice, contested matters, and/or adversary proceedings
  • Ability to think quickly and perform under pressure
  • Proficiency in deposition preparation and execution
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Team player with an interest in relationship-building
  • Cultural competence to work with diverse attorneys, staff, and clients
  • Highly motivated and adaptable to a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional law school credentials and references

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice law in Washington, DC

Skills:
