Experience and Education:

- 4-7 years of experience as a patent agent
- Passed Patent Bar Exam and registered to practice before the USPTO

Responsibilities:

- Draft, prepare, and submit patent applications with limited attorney supervision
- Review and respond to communications from USPTO and foreign patent offices
- Provide guidance and training to IP support professionals
- Assist with patent enforcement, licensing, and business transactions
- Conduct research and analysis, including patent and literature searching
- Mentor junior patent agents and technical specialists
- Manage deadlines and comply with practice group procedures
- Interact with clients throughout the patent process

- Washington, DC: $136,454 to $208,204

- San Francisco, CA: $142,140 to $216,879

Additional Compensation:

- Eligible for additional contingent compensation based on factors such as work performance, location, experience, education, and qualifications

- Engage in more independent client interaction.

- Provide substantive support with the preparation of patentability, validity, freedom to operate and infringement opinions with attorney review and completion.
- Assist attorneys with more complex research and analysis, conducting literature and patent searching on internet databases.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- 4-7 years of patent agent experience.
- Passed Patent Bar Exam and registered to practice before the . Patent and Trademark Office.

- Strategically interpret client needs and take appropriate action.
