Job Overview:
A highly regarded law firm is seeking a talented and motivated Litigation Associate Attorney to join their commercial litigation practice. The firm is looking for a candidate with 1-4 years of litigation experience, preferably from a top law firm, and judicial clerkship experience is a plus. This is a hybrid position offering the opportunity to handle a diverse range of commercial litigation matters in both state and federal courts. The ideal candidate will be passionate about litigation, with a strong desire to take ownership of cases and appear in court.

Location:

  • Minneapolis, MN

Duties:

  • Manage a broad range of commercial litigation matters, including federal and state court cases, appellate cases, and arbitration or mediation.
  • Represent clients in trial-level and appellate courts, as well as before administrative tribunals.
  • Take ownership of cases, providing immediate value to the case teams.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare case strategy recommendations.
  • Appear in court, take depositions, and interact with clients.
  • Participate in various forms of dispute resolution, including arbitrations and mediations.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of litigation experience at a top law firm.
  • Judicial clerkship experience is a plus.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of matters and provide immediate value to case teams.
  • Desire to appear in court, take depositions, and interact with clients.
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards of legal practice.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Minnesota.
  • Licensure in Illinois or willingness to become licensed in Illinois is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Minnesota.
  • Licensure in Illinois (or willingness to become licensed) is preferred.

Skills:

  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong ability to handle commercial litigation cases independently.
  • Excellent courtroom presence with the ability to argue motions and take depositions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and cases effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for client interaction and teamwork.
