Job Overview:
A highly regarded law firm is seeking a talented and motivated Litigation Associate Attorney to join their commercial litigation practice. The firm is looking for a candidate with 1-4 years of litigation experience, preferably from a top law firm, and judicial clerkship experience is a plus. This is a hybrid position offering the opportunity to handle a diverse range of commercial litigation matters in both state and federal courts. The ideal candidate will be passionate about litigation, with a strong desire to take ownership of cases and appear in court.
Location:
Duties:
- Manage a broad range of commercial litigation matters, including federal and state court cases, appellate cases, and arbitration or mediation.
- Represent clients in trial-level and appellate courts, as well as before administrative tribunals.
- Take ownership of cases, providing immediate value to the case teams.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and prepare case strategy recommendations.
- Appear in court, take depositions, and interact with clients.
- Participate in various forms of dispute resolution, including arbitrations and mediations.
Requirements:
- 1-4 years of litigation experience at a top law firm.
- Judicial clerkship experience is a plus.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to take ownership of matters and provide immediate value to case teams.
- Desire to appear in court, take depositions, and interact with clients.
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of legal practice.
- Must be licensed to practice law in Minnesota.
- Licensure in Illinois or willingness to become licensed in Illinois is a plus.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Must be licensed to practice law in Minnesota.
- Licensure in Illinois (or willingness to become licensed) is preferred.
