Workers Compensation/Personal Injury Legal Assistant/Paralegal Job at Law Firm H1: Join Our Team as a Workers Compensation/Personal Injury Legal Assistant/Paralegal at Law Firm H2: Experience the Exciting World of Workers Compensation and Personal Injury Law Salary: Commensurate based on experience Job Type: Full-time Location: Various locations in Illinois (Bloomington, Champaign, Decatur, Macomb, Quincy, Rushville, Springfield) Job Description: - Seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant or Paralegal with at least two years of experience in worker's compensation and/or personal injury law. - Must possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. - Responsible for managing all aspects of worker's compensation and/or personal injury cases, including opening and processing cases, requesting and creating supporting documents, and maintaining attorney calendars. - Must align with the firm's mission and values and inspire and motivate other team members to deliver exceptional results. - Foster a positive work environment by building effective relationships and making sound decisions. Responsibilities: - Conduct intake calls and client interviews. - Organize and manage client files. - Transcribe and compose routine letters and documents. - Perform filing, copying, scanning, and file setup. - Work with medical records and other documents, including organizing and indexing. - Maintain attorney calendar and schedule appointments and deadlines. - Prepare documentation for case files. - Knowledge of legal management software. - Conduct research to support legal proceedings. - Respond to and manage client inquiries. - Act as a liaison between clients and attorneys. - Prepare discovery documents, legal pleadings, and correspondence. - Review and analyze medical records and other documents. - Assist with trial preparation. - Must have exceptional communication skills and be comfortable communicating with various parties. - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. - Skilled at multitasking. - Knowledge of MS Office Applications. - Ability to organize daily activities and work well in a team. Requirements: - Minimum of two years of experience in worker's compensation and/or personal injury law. - Detail-oriented and self-starter with a strong work ethic. - Excellent organizational and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality. - Familiarity with legal management software. - Proficient in MS Office Applications. Additional Information: - Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM with an hour for lunch. - Must be able to work from one of the following office locations in Illinois: Bloomington, Champaign, Decatur, Macomb, Quincy, Rushville, or Springfield. - Please submit cover letter, resume, and salary requirements to apply.
