Crowell & Moring LLP is currently seeking a highly qualified Export Controls Associate or Counsel to join its International Trade practice group. This position will be based in the Washington, . office. ## Qualifications The ideal candidate for this position must have 4-6 years of experience counseling clients with respect to . export controls matters, with a particular emphasis on the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”). Additionally, the ideal candidate should have some experience in one or more of the following areas: * Performing jurisdiction and classification analyses * EAR experience should include encryption controls, and technology controls * Drafting license applications and Commodity Jurisdiction requests * Representing clients with respect to voluntary self-disclosures * Internal and government investigations related to export control concerns Prior work experience including performing M&A trade due diligence, economic sanctions and OFAC background, national security reviews by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the . (CFIUS), and mitigation of foreign ownership, control, or influence (FOCI mitigation) for cleared . contractors, is also a plus. Candidates must have excellent academic and professional credentials as well as highly developed analytical, communication and writing skills. Candidates must also be a member of the . Bar or eligible to waive in. ## Salary and Benefits This position is a full-time role. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
