Litigation Paralegal The candidate will perform legal support services for staff attorneys. Will provide support for and assists staff attorneys of the litigation section who provide legal services to various client city/county agencies. Support includes preparing written correspondence, communicating with client agencies or citizens, gathering and recording information, assisting with discovery, and performing other administrative duties including scheduling, file management, etc. Assist in other office-wide administrative duties as needed or assigned, including staffing the office reception desk; greeting visitors, accepting deliveries, answering and forwarding telephone calls. Prepare legal documents to include drafting, serving and filing of pleadings, briefs, memoranda, correspondence and other legal documents, and includes research or information gathering related to the preparation, serving or filing of legal documents.

Qualification and Experience The candidate should have high school diploma and/or GED. A college degree, Associate's degree or certificate in paralegal studies or 1+ year of experience as a paralegal is preferred. Familiarity with civil law is also a plus. Excellent organizational and time management skills are required. Knowledge of spreadsheet(s), database(s), and other software is preferred. Skills and knowledge required will be those normally acquired through a degree or certificate from a Certified Paralegal Program. A knowledge of legal terms and the ability to perform legal research are required. Effective analytical, communication, organization, and computer skills are preferred.
