Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a skilled and experienced Litigation Attorney to represent clients in complex real estate and construction litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have substantial trial experience, a strong track record of successful litigation, and the ability to manage cases from inception through trial and appeal. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a commitment to achieving favorable client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in various litigation matters related to real estate and construction law, from case inception through trial and, if necessary, appeal.
- Conducted comprehensive legal research, analyzed complex legal issues, and provided sound legal advice to clients.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
- Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and mediations to advocate for clients’ interests effectively.
- Collaborate with the litigation support team, including paralegals and legal assistants, to ensure smooth case management and timely document filing.
- Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution methods to achieve favorable client outcomes when appropriate.
- Keep clients informed about case developments and provide strategic recommendations to achieve their goals.
- Stay current with changes in relevant laws, regulations, and legal trends affecting real estate and construction litigation.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Maryland State Bar.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Litigation Attorney, preferably focusing on real estate and construction law, including substantial trial experience.
- Proven track record of successful representation in complex litigation cases.
Skills:
- Strong legal research and analytical skills with the ability to craft compelling legal arguments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a legal team.
