This position may be filled remotely or in any of their locations, and offers a competitive salary range of $132,000 - $289,000 per year. The Director of Docketing Services will provide thought leadership and development to the docketing function, working closely with firm leadership and Practice Specialty Center leaders. This role will be responsible for implementing and managing high-quality policies, procedures, and teams related to docketing services. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage the docketing staff and all docket-related services, including all calendaring and docketing in the litigation and intellectual property docket systems. - Provide direction, development, and oversight of docketing services across the firm. - Serve as a resource and subject matter expert to firm leadership concerning docketing services and procedures. - Identify and analyze docketing technologies, trends, and best practices and implement them at the firm. - Build relationships with and serve as a resource and docketing subject matter expert to the firm’s attorneys. - Collaborate with PSC Leaders and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with established rules and procedures. - Audit docket entries for accuracy and maintain the integrity of the docketing databases and systems. - Proactively engage with attorneys and leaders to address docketing concerns. - Lead, supervise, and develop a cohesive team of docketing professionals. - Develop and oversee compliance with written policies and procedures. - Implement training programs for new and experienced docketing team members. - Research and communicate changes in docketing rules and procedures. - Maintain knowledge of e-filing requirements for various courts. - Participate in professional organizations to stay informed on rule changes. - Oversee departmental budgets and performance reviews. - Direct and oversee hiring, firing, promotions, and creation/elimination of positions within the docketing teams. - Work on ad hoc projects as needed. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field. - Minimum of 10 years of legal docketing experience within a law firm environment. - Extensive experience in an attorney or senior paralegal role. - Demonstrated subject matter expertise in docketing rules, practices, and procedures. - Proficiency with docket databases, preferably CompuLaw and Pattsy. - Strong communication skills, both oral and written. - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. - Non-hierarchical approach and ability to build consensus. - Strong integrity, maturity, and fairness. - Ability to work under pressure and conflicting circumstances. - Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and commitment to innovation.
