As a Paralegal specializing in Real Estate Tax Certiorari, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of professionals in a global law firm setting. In this role, you will assist in filing tax appeal documents, preparing documentation for tax appeal hearings, conducting research and analysis, and maintaining client files. The position offers a competitive salary range of $105,000 to $115,000 per year, depending on experience and other job-related factors. Responsibilities: - Provide paralegal services to the Real Estate practice area, specifically the real estate tax assessment appeals team and other tax certiorari related matters - Assist in filing tax appeal documents and data entry of income and expense statements with the Tax Commission - Prepare documentation for tax appeal hearings and conduct research on real property tax benefit programs - Assist in the preparation of real estate tax projections and analyze income and expense pro formas for real estate tax budgets - Research New York City Department of Finance account histories for account reconciliation - Respond to client inquiries regarding real estate tax accounts - Prepare complex invoices incorporating multiple factors - Maintain client files in compliance with group and firm procedures - Meet minimum 1650 hour annual billable requirement - Participate in the firm's Global Responsible Business program Qualifications: - Strong computer and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel - Excellent writing and communication skills - Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment - Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information - Flexibility for overtime and occasional travel as needed - Knowledge of legal billing and timekeeping processes Education and Experience: - Three or more years of paralegal experience, with experience in supporting a Tax Certiorari practice highly desirable - Bachelor's degree required, ABA-approved paralegal certificate preferred Hours and Salary: - Core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 . to 5:30 . with flexibility for overtime as needed - Annualized salary range of $105,000 to $115,000 depending on experience and job-related factors - Full-time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus and fringe benefits Hogan Lovells is an Equal Opportunity Employer and values diversity in the workplace.
