Salary Information:

The salary for this position will vary depending on experience and qualifications, but typically falls within the range of $60,000 to $80,000 per year. This includes a competitive benefits package and potential for performance-based bonuses.

Job Title:
Sr. Paralegal - Trial Division - Michigan

Experience Information:
- 5+ years of experience as a paralegal
- Experience in insurance defense litigation and/or plaintiff experience highly preferred
- High value complex litigation experience
- Experience with high level cases in both commercial and personal lines
- Bodily Injury case handling experience preferred
- Answering and Propounding written discovery preferred
- Some administrative/calendaring experience preferred
- Subrogations experience preferred

Responsibilities:
- Provide pre-trial and trial support for litigated matters of moderate to high complexity
- Assist in the preparation, review, filing, and service of pleadings, motions, discovery, and subpoenas
- Review and prepare documents for document production requests
- Analyze and respond to incoming discovery
- Review and analyze medical records
- Conduct legal research and writing assignments
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and meetings
- Provide administrative support to trial team(s)
- Maintain working knowledge of court procedures
- Understand and maintain confidentiality in respect to the attorney-client privilege/relationship
- Have in-depth knowledge of each file assigned to trial team(s)
- Coordinate workflow and support the overall litigation strategy
- May assist Managing Attorney with the coordination of workflow of support staff
- May assist Managing Attorney mentor or train new and less experienced Paralegals and Legal Assistants

Education and License/Certification/Designation:
- Undergraduate studies in business administration, insurance or other related area preferred
- Certification in paralegal studies strongly preferred; or developed paralegal experience

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
- General knowledge of law office operations, practices, and procedures
- Experience in filing and scheduling procedures of the various courts
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and case management databases
- Understanding of insurance practice civil defense in state courts and agencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, focused, technologically savvy, and adaptable
- Exercises independent initiative and judgment
- Ability to design and maintain filing and follow-up systems
- Ability to acquire skills and/or knowledge necessary to research information and determine the applicability of legal action
