H2: Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Paralegal role:

- Conducting intake at the Chicago office and other off-site locations
- Providing group presentations on Know Your Rights
- Conducting legal and factual research
- Assessing cases for eligibility
- Interviewing clients and witnesses
- Drafting legal documents and preparing supporting materials
- Reviewing and analyzing cases with supervisor
- Maintaining accurate and organized records
- Staying current on immigration laws and policies
- Adhering to ethical standards and client confidentiality
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications for the Paralegal role:

- Bachelor's degree
- Experience working with immigrants, refugees, and/or asylum seekers
- Fluency in English and Spanish (other languages encouraged)
- Valid IL Driver's License
- Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines

Salary Information: The salary range for this position is $40,467-$47,410.

As a Paralegal, you will provide essential support to our Legal Protection team by conducting intake, research, and case review, as well as assisting with group presentations and maintaining accurate records. We are looking for someone with a Bachelor's degree and experience working with these populations, as well as fluency in English and Spanish. Other languages are also encouraged to apply. A valid IL Driver's License is required, as travel to off-site locations is necessary. Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills are a must, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines. The salary range for this position is $40,467-$47,410.
