H2: Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Paralegal role:

- Conducting intake at the Chicago office and other off-site locations
- Providing group presentations on Know Your Rights
- Conducting legal and factual research
- Assessing cases for eligibility
- Interviewing clients and witnesses
- Drafting legal documents and preparing supporting materials
- Reviewing and analyzing cases with supervisor
- Maintaining accurate and organized records
- Staying current on immigration laws and policies
- Adhering to ethical standards and client confidentiality
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications for the Paralegal role:

- Bachelor's degree
- Experience working with immigrants, refugees, and/or asylum seekers
- Fluency in English and Spanish (other languages encouraged)
- Valid IL Driver's License
- Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines

Salary Information: The salary range for this position is $40,467-$47,410.

To qualify for this position, an individual must have a Bachelor's degree and at least one year of experience working with immigrants, refugees, and/or asylum seekers. Fluency in English and Spanish is required, and additional language skills are encouraged. The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and perform well under strict deadlines is also essential.
