Legal Specialist II: Providing Legal Support Services for Elevance Health

Elevance Health is looking for a Legal Specialist II to join our team. This full-time position offers competitive compensation and an opportunity to work in a hybrid model (remote and office) at one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations. The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of our locations.

As a Legal Specialist II, you will be responsible for providing legal support services for multiple states, enterprise-wide functions, and complex litigation. This role requires a recognized area of specialization and knowledge specific to the company. Your responsibilities will include preparing, analyzing, and evaluating legal documents, conducting legal research and analysis, and participating in negotiations and strategizing with business and staff. You will also assist with regulatory governance and compliance issues, attend and represent the company at legal proceedings, and manage e-Discovery processes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare, analyze, and evaluate legal documents such as contracts, legal memorandum, objections to subpoenas, regulatory filings, and pleadings
- Conduct legal research and analysis, and recommend appropriate course of action and next steps
- Monitor state and federal legislation affecting the corporation and develop/implement recommendations
- Assist with regulatory governance and compliance issues
- Attend and represent the company at appropriate legal proceedings, arbitration hearings, and/or subsidiary company board meetings
- Participate in projects and negotiations with business and staff
- Manage e-Discovery processes and coordinate investigative and discovery activities

Requirements:

- Paralegal certification or an AA/AS/BA/BS in a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of legal or related experience
- Familiarity with state and federal insurance and healthcare-related laws and regulations
- Experience working with provider contracts
