A law firm in Akron is seeking a highly experienced Labor and Employment Attorney to advocate on behalf of employers in cases involving wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour matters, and other labor and employment issues. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing, analytical, litigation, and communication skills, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Additionally, they should have experience conducting Title VII and Title IX investigations and must be licensed or able to attain a license to practice law in the State of Ohio.

 

Duties:

  • Advocate on behalf of employers in labor and employment cases
  • Research and counsel clients on various labor and employment issues, including employee leaves of absence, accommodations, and labor relations
  • Draft employment agreements, contracts, employee handbooks, and policies
  • Participate actively in litigation, including drafting pleadings and motions, reviewing and responding to discovery, and taking depositions
  • Conduct Title VII and Title IX investigations
  • Collaborate effectively with teams and manage and prioritize multiple projects

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • 8-10 years of experience in a law firm advocating on behalf of employers
  • Ability to attain or possess a license to practice law in the State of Ohio
  • Strong litigation skills and experience
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Experience conducting Title VII and Title IX investigations

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

License to practice law in the State of Ohio (or ability to attain)
