The candidate will handle a caseload of the most serious high impact IPV offenders. Assist in screening cases, both as pre-arrest investigations, as well as post-arrest. Work in close collaboration with the Witness Aid Services Unit to secure services for IPV survivors. Collaborate with the Violent Criminal Enterprises Unit, Crime Strategies Unit, Trial Division Central, the Executive Assistant DA for Gun Violence Prevention, as well as dedicated partners throughout the NYPD and other law enforcement agencies. Help to make victims of serious IPV feel safe and hold their abusers accountable. Focus on recovering firearms involved in IPV cases. Receive additional training in trauma informed techniques, as well as intelligence utilization strategies that focus on the overlap between IPV and other forms of violent crime. Participate in homicide call, as well as collaborate with other Special Victims Division subject areas. Should have 3+ years of prosecutorial experience or equivalent experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) will be considered.
