- Cooley (referred to as "law firm" in text) is seeking a Public Companies Resource Attorney to support the Public Companies practice group within the Business department. - This is a full-time, non-client facing position with a focus on enabling the practicing attorneys to be more informed and efficient. - The Resource Attorney must be a licensed attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience in representing Public Companies in current and periodic reporting as well as Corporate Governance. - The expected annual pay range for this position is $220,000 - $325,000, with final offer amount depending on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate. - The Resource Attorney will be responsible for staying current on legal and regulatory developments, developing and assisting with client alerts and publications, creating practice resources, maintaining work product and know-how archives, updating forms and templates, and providing information for business development opportunities. - This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of the relevant industries, and strong organizational and time management abilities. - Cooley offers a full range of elective benefits, including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, and parental support benefits. - Employees also receive firm-paid life insurance, AD&D, LTD, short-term medical benefits, and accrue vacation and sick time, as well as 10 paid holidays each year. - The firm also provides generous parental leave and fertility benefits. - New employees will attend a detailed benefit orientation to learn more about the available benefits and resources. Responsibilities of Public Companies Resource Attorney: - Keeping current on all legal and regulatory developments relevant to the Public Companies practice group. - Developing topics for and assisting in the preparation of client alerts and similar publications. - Developing practice resources to enhance the exchange of know-how within the Public Companies practice group and facilitate interaction with clients and prospective clients. - Creating, maintaining, and updating archives of work product and know-how within the Public Companies practice group. - Maintaining and updating forms and templates for the practice group, ensuring they reflect current legal developments and industry-accepted terms. - Collecting and providing information to assist the Marketing department with responses to RFPs and other business development opportunities. - Coordinating with Professional Development to enhance the skills development of members within the Public Companies practice group. - Coordinating with Information Services to assess available technologies and develop new solutions for efficiency and service delivery within the practice group. Requirements for Public Companies Resource Attorney: - Must be a licensed attorney with significant prior experience in the Public Company practice area. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in representing Public Companies in current and periodic reporting as well as Corporate Governance. - Mastery of the substantive area of practice undertaken by the Public Company practice group. - Knowledge of the industries regularly advised by Cooley. - Excellent written and verbal communication and drafting skills. - Confident and engaging presenter. - Strong intellectual ability, interpersonal and technical skills. - Self-starter with strong organizational and time management abilities. - Team player with attention to detail.
