Legal Specialist Sr. - Enterprise Operations

H2: Location and Work Model Information:

- Hybrid workplace model with remote work and 1-2 days in-office per week
- Candidates must reside within a 50-mile or 1-hour commute of a relevant Elevance Health location

Overview:

- Responsible for leading support staff and providing legal support services for multiple Medicaid states, enterprise-wide functions, and/or complex litigation
- Utilizes specialized knowledge specific to the company
- Serves as a seasoned resource and may lead and/or coach other support staff

Responsibilities:

- Prepares and evaluates legal documentation to resolve problems, close transactions, and maintain good corporate governance
- Conducts legal research and analysis and recommends the appropriate course of action
- Performs fact-checking, gathers documents, and responds to inquiries from internal and external sources
- Serves as a lead in the investigation and resolution of complex cases
- Monitors state and federal legislation and develops/implements recommendations
- Attends and represents the company at legal proceedings and subsidiary company's board meetings
- Applies business knowledge and technical expertise to optimize solutions and improve practices
- Participates in projects and negotiations with business and staff
- Enters information into appropriate databases or document management systems
- Handles Provider Contracting for Medicaid markets

Qualifications:

- Paralegal Certification or AA/AS/BA/BS in a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of legal or related experience
- Experience in Medicaid or other government programs preferred
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Skilled in Excel preferred

Salary Information:

- Salary range for this position is to per hour
