Law Firm Seeking Experienced Litigation Paralegal for Statewide Practice

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Prepare legal documents and materials such as motions, pleadings, subpoenas, and discovery-related materials
- Manage information from administrative and trial courts
- Conduct cite checking and review motions and pleadings for accuracy
- Organize and manage large volumes of documents
- Utilize software systems for document tracking and review
- Conduct legal research and fact gathering using Westlaw and other resources
- Prepare easy-to-understand documents and presentations
- Process court and administrative filings
- Stay current with court dockets and litigation dates
- Provide recommendations on procedural issues

Qualifications:

- Detail-oriented, proactive, and organized with strong knowledge of litigation procedures
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines/priorities
- Demonstrated experience maintaining high-quality work product within required time constraints
- Accurate and succinct tracking of complex information
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong understanding of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team

Essential Duties and Qualifications:

As a litigation paralegal at our firm, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support our attorneys and ensure the success of our cases. Some of your essential duties and responsibilities will include:

- Preparing legal documents and materials, such as motions, pleadings, subpoenas, and discovery-related materials
- Managing, uploading, and retrieving information from administrative and trial courts
- Conducting cite checking and reviewing motions and pleadings for accuracy
- Organizing and managing large volumes of documents, both hard copy and electronic files
- Utilizing various software systems for document tracking and review
- Conducting legal research and fact gathering, utilizing resources such as Westlaw
- Consolidating analysis into easy-to-understand documents and presentations
- Preparing and processing court and administrative filings
- Staying current with court dockets, calendared litigation, and other administrative agency hearing dates
- Providing recommendations to attorneys and staff on complex procedural issues

To be successful in this role, you must be detail-oriented, proactive, and organized with a strong knowledge of litigation procedures. You should also be able to work well under pressure, managing multiple deadlines and priorities with excellent follow-through. Accuracy, speed, and professionalism are a must, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated understanding of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with a document management system is required, as well as experience using eDiscovery software for document review and production. Additionally, you should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Three years of prior experience as a litigation paralegal is required, and experience in an education law setting is strongly preferred. Flexibility with work schedule and the ability to work overtime as needed is also necessary. A is required for this position.
