- Legal Specialist II position available at Elevance Health
- Full-time role with a hybrid work model (remote and office)
- Ideal candidate should live within 50 miles of Elevance Health PulsePoint locations
- Responsible for providing legal support services for multiple states, enterprise-wide functions and/or complex litigation
- Prepares, analyzes, and evaluates legal documents such as contracts, legal memorandum, objections to subpoenas, regulatory filings and pleadings
- Conducts legal research and analysis, and recommends appropriate course of action
- Performs fact checking, gathers documents, researches and responds to subpoenas, record requests, and various inquiries
- Monitors state and federal legislation affecting the corporation
- Assists with regulatory governance and compliance issues
- Attends and represents company at appropriate legal proceedings, arbitration hearings, and/or subsidiary company board meetings
- Participates on projects and may participate in negotiations and strategizing
- Requires Paralegal Certification or an AA/AS/BA/BS in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of legal or related experience
- Preferred skills include experience creating multi-state surveys of laws and regulations, familiarity with state and federal insurance and healthcare-related laws and regulations, familiarity with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and experience working with provider contracts
