We are currently seeking a Legal Secretary to join our Sacramento, CA office and support our team of attorneys with a variety of tasks. As a Legal Secretary, you will be responsible for maintaining electronic case files, preparing and revising legal documents, managing attorney calendars, completing expense reports, and other administrative duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of legal experience, preferably in labor and employment law, and be familiar with state and federal rules and procedures. A degree in a related field is preferred, but relevant experience will also be considered. This is a hybrid position, meaning it offers a combination of remote and in-office work. The expected salary range for this position in California is between $73,000 and $90,000, with the actual compensation being determined based on experience and other factors. Responsibilities: - Maintain electronic case files and update as needed following set protocols. - Assist with preparation and revision of legal documents. - Manage attorney calendars and assist with filing deadlines. - Complete monthly expense reports and assist with client invoicing. - Book and organize travel arrangements for attorneys. - Monitor CLE needs and assist with bar admissions. - Conduct conflict checks and open new client engagements. - Maintain knowledge of current cases and projects. - Oversee confidential and time-sensitive material. - Perform other administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications: - Minimum 5 years of legal experience, preferably in labor and employment law. - Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures. - Experience with ECF and state e-filing systems. - Proficiency in Windows, Word, and Outlook. - Familiarity with billing and expense reporting software. - Ability to support multiple attorneys and handle trial preparation. - Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. - Reliable with punctuality and attendance. - Associate degree or 4-year college degree preferred.
