Salary:

- Minimum: $58,000 per year
- Midpoint: $72,500 per year
- Maximum: $87,000 per year

Mission Statement:

The mission of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.

Key Functions:

1. Provide advanced legal and administrative support for legal program managers and attorneys
- Initiate correspondence, reports, and other documents using word processing software
- Assist with projects and presentations, including PowerPoint slides and Excel spreadsheets
- Schedule and coordinate meetings
- Maintain project and litigation files
- Manage records requests and outside litigation requests
- Assist with managing credentialing requests
- Perform other duties as assigned

2. Process internal and external settlement documents
- Prepare settlement approval memos, check requests, and release agreements
- Draft memos and correspondence for attorneys
- Review files and gather data for response

3. Demonstrate interpersonal skills
- Listen critically and take thorough notes
- Communicate sensitively with diverse individuals
- Clarify client requests for information
- Differentiate between emergency and non-emergency problems

4. Assist with filing and organizing documents
- Maintain litigation and subject files
- Assist with archiving files

5. Assist with discovery responses and other legal documents
- Obtain documentation from various departments and agencies
- Organize and send records to appropriate parties
- Communicate promptly and effectively with clients and outside attorneys

6. Attend meetings and take notes
- Assist with preparation for meetings
- Communicate with clients and outside attorneys

7. Process mail and correspondence
- Determine priority and respond as needed

8. Assist with Texas Public Information Act requests and related administrative duties
- Draft and coordinate letters and correspondence

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree
- 2 years of experience in a legal or regulatory environment
- Ability to substitute education with additional experience
- No required certification, but preferred Paralegal certificate
