A law firm in Providence is seeking an accomplished Energy Regulatory Associate Attorney with 4-5 years of experience in energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in handling regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and other state energy regulatory commissions, as well as experience with entities such as ERCOT or other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets.

 

Job Details:

  • Provide legal counsel on regulatory and compliance issues in the energy sector.
  • Advocate before state energy regulatory commissions and entities like ERCOT.
  • Handle power transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and power sales.
  • Articulate effective legal strategies and courses of action.
  • Collaborate with a team to ensure successful project management.
  • Demonstrate superior judgment and the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Experience handling regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and other state energy regulatory commissions.
  • Involvement in matters before or involving ERCOT or other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets.
  • Beneficial experience in advocacy before state utility commissions or involving power transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, power sales, and related matters.

 

Requirements:

Active Bar license in the state of Texas.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Experience:

4-5 years of energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance experience preferred.

 

Skills:

  • Strong academic record.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Superior judgment in legal matters.
  • Effective management of multiple projects.
  • Articulate legal strategies and courses of action.
