Responsibilities of a Jr Legal Assistant As a Jr Legal Assistant, you will primarily work under the direction of an assigned group of attorneys and other team members. Your main responsibilities will include managing cases, busy calendars, and constantly evolving schedules. This will involve coordinating depositions, mediations, meetings, and events. You will also need to have familiarity with e-filing in state and federal courts in Texas, docketing deadlines, and trial preparation. The essential job functions of this role include: - Supporting other Legal Secretaries within assigned teams to meet Firm and client needs - Preparing and revising a wide variety of documents, including correspondence, memoranda, and legal materials - Scheduling depositions and mediations, and preparing hearing notebooks - Assisting in trial preparation as needed - Processing expense reports - Receiving, placing, and screening telephone calls - Scheduling conference calls and coordinating/scheduling travel - Identifying and calendaring all incoming discovery requests, briefs, motions, and court appearances - Organizing and prioritizing workload to facilitate team effort and accomplish Firm and client goals efficiently - Exhibiting professionalism and adhering to all Firm policies, including attendance guidelines, dress code, security measures, and confidentiality requirements - Managing confidential information with discretion - Working core business hours with flexibility for overtime as required Requirements for the Role To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements: - At least 3 years of recent experience as a litigation legal secretary - A professional, organized self-starter with good tenure - A proactive work ethic and the ability to anticipate needs - Strong decision-making skills and attention to detail - A flexible schedule and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging legal environment - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - The ability to work collaboratively as a team - A high school diploma or equivalent Salary Information The salary for this position is dependent on experience.
