Are you a skilled paralegal with a passion for collections? Look no further! Our law firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Collection Paralegal to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial and consumer collections cases, utilizing your knowledge of applicable laws and procedures to ensure successful outcomes for our clients. If you possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic, we want to hear from you!

Job Responsibilities:

- Compose and issue standard commercial and consumer collections letters in compliance with the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
- Prepare collection pleadings from start to finish, following the FDCPA, Rules of Civil Procedure, and local court procedures.
- Receive, post, and record debtor payments in our system.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding deposit reports, bankruptcies, payments, insurance, and more.
- Interact with courts, banks, title companies, employers, debtors, and attorneys to discuss payoffs, settlements, fees, and costs.
- Monitor judgment lien renewal dates and take appropriate action.
- Utilize basic accounting and bookkeeping skills to verify and implement interest rate calculations.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Attributes and Qualifications:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Fluent in English, with strong reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension abilities.
- Comfortable working independently as a professional representative of our law firm.
- Familiarity with applicable laws, codes, and administrative procedures in the counties and municipalities we serve.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with our team of attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, outside organizations, and clients.

Other Aspects of this Position:

- Full-time position, with consideration given to qualified candidates seeking part-time work.
- Primarily Monday through Friday during business hours, with occasional extended periods of sitting and use of computers.
- Close attention to detail, color-vision, depth perception, and focus required.
