- Seeking an Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Attorney with 5+ years of experience in a top tier law firm
- Must have experience in employee benefits and executive compensation, specifically in counseling on tax-qualified retirement plans and advising/drafting for 409A and 280G in M&A and corporate transactions
- Prior experience with SEC's Executive Compensation Disclosure Rules is a strong plus
- Depending on seniority, portable business is preferred but not required
- Location is flexible and can be in any market where the law firm Akerman has an office
- Must have a and bar admission in the jurisdiction of the resident office location
- Competitive salary based on experience will be offered

Job Responsibilities:

- Provide counsel and advice on employee benefits and executive compensation matters
- Advise and draft documents for tax-qualified retirement plans, including 409A and 280G in the context of M&A and corporate transactions
- Stay up-to-date on the SEC's Executive Compensation Disclosure Rules and provide guidance to clients
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and work to bring in new business
- Collaborate with other attorneys and departments within the law firm to provide comprehensive services to clients
- Attend industry conferences and events to stay current on trends and changes in the field
- Mentor and train junior associates and staff in employee benefits and executive compensation matters

Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation at a top tier law firm
- Strong understanding of tax-qualified retirement plans, including 409A and 280G
- Prior experience with SEC's Executive Compensation Disclosure Rules is a plus
- Portable business is preferred but not required
