A law firm seeks an experienced Real Estate Associate to join its distinguished Energy & Infrastructure practice in Washington, . The firm is looking for a highly motivated associate with 3-5 years of real estate law experience, ideally with a focus on the energy and infrastructure sectors. This role involves advising clients through the entire project lifecycle, from initial due diligence and development to M&A transactions, financing, and tax equity deals. The ideal candidate will have experience with real estate issues. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about working in a fast-paced, dynamic field with an innovative and collaborative team.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on real estate matters related to energy and infrastructure projects, including wind, solar, and battery storage.
  • Manage real estate due diligence and guide on title and survey issues.
  • Work closely with project teams throughout the lifecycle of projects, including development, mergers and acquisitions, and financing transactions.
  • Negotiate and draft key real estate documents, including leases, easements, and purchase agreements.
  • Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and external parties to deliver effective solutions on complex real estate issues.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends in the energy and infrastructure sectors, particularly renewable energy.
  • Assist in managing and mentoring junior associates, providing support and training as needed.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in real estate law, with a strong preference for experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven ability to manage real estate transactions, including those involving renewable energy projects (wind, solar, and battery storage).
  • Experience with title and survey issues, and the ability to provide advice on complex real estate matters.
  • Excellent academic credentials and a strong track record of success in real estate law.
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • High level of motivation and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of the relevant jurisdiction, or eligibility to take the Bar Exam in the state where the position is located.

Skills:

  • Expertise in real estate law, with specific experience in energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong negotiation, drafting, and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in handling title and survey matters for large-scale projects.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with teams and clients.
