Law Firm Seeking Experienced Patent Specialist in Multiple Locations

Are you an experienced patent specialist looking for a new opportunity? Kilpatrick Townsend, an international law firm, is seeking a Patent Specialist to join our Intellectual Property Department in our Winston-Salem, Raleigh, Houston, Dallas, or Denver office. As part of our team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff, you will play an integral role in providing high-quality service to both internal and external clients. In this role, you will provide support on US patent prosecution and patent matters, with a focus on US and PCT filings, deadline management, and special projects. You will work as part of a team under the supervision of attorneys, collaborate with peers, and provide excellent service to clients. This position also involves a variety of patent-related administrative support tasks, including client services, docket management, and timekeeping.

Responsibilities Include:
- US patent prosecution support in all phases of patent prosecution, including collaborating with attorneys, patent specialists, paralegals, and clients.
- Preparing, reviewing, and filing US and PCT patent applications, responses, and issue fees, both electronically and on paper.
- Drafting correspondence to clients about the status of patent applications and patent matters.
- Reporting USPTO and PCT correspondence and notifications, such as publications, recordation of assignments, office actions, and more.
- Managing client portfolios, including preparing and maintaining status reports, charts, and other projects.
- Drafting, filing, and reporting IDS and IDS reference management for clients.
- Docket management, including monitoring deadlines, communicating with appropriate parties, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Reviewing, organizing, and filing documents and emails in the firm's document management system.
- Completing special projects as assigned.
- Performing a variety of patent-related administrative support tasks, such as client reports, client meetings, and client proformas.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years' experience as a patent prosecution paralegal, legal secretary, or comparable position.
- Experience with electronic filing procedures at the USPTO.
- Excellent knowledge of USPTO and PCT rules and procedures.
- High proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and other research tools.
- Good working knowledge of timekeeping software and document management systems.
- Strong client service skills and ability to collaborate with others.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, able to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Respectful, reliable, and dependable team player.
- Action and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
