Summary: This is a full-time Floating Litigation Legal Secretary position at Hoge Fenton, a multi-service law firm in Silicon Valley. H1: Floating Litigation Legal Secretary at Hoge Fenton Law Firm in Silicon Valley H2: Join Our Team as a Floating Litigation Legal Secretary at Hoge Fenton Primary Duties: - Create, format, proofread, and edit legal documents for attorneys and paralegals - File and serve legal documents in State and Federal Courts, with preference for e-filing skills - Assist with scheduling conferences and meetings - Save communications and documents to the firm's computerized document management system - Communicate with court personnel, clients, and other parties electronically, in writing, and by phone - Help open and close matters in accordance with firm policies and procedures - Act as backup for central calendar docketing system and cover desks when other secretaries are out of office Education, Experience, and Skills: - High school education or equivalent required, Associates' or Bachelor's degree preferred - Minimum of 3 years experience in legal secretarial field - 3+ years of litigation calendaring and court filing experience required, familiarity with Probate and Real Estate litigation a plus - Knowledge of legal motions, discovery, evidence, court rules and procedures - Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, familiarity with NetDocs and ProLaw a plus - Proficient in e-filing in State, Federal, and Appellate Courts - Strong word processing and proofreading skills - Detail-oriented with ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines - Analytical thinking in a fast-paced environment - Ability to handle workload for multiple attorneys and/or paralegals - Proficient in using firm's systems, software, and procedures - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to work well in a team and foster a collaborative atmosphere Physical Requirements: - Sedentary position with normal office work, including some lifting and computer work Salary Information: - Hourly salary range of - , with actual compensation depending on experience, qualifications, and skill set Hoge Fenton is committed to diversity and creating a supportive work environment.
