Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct literature and patent searching under attorney supervision
- Review file histories of patents
- Analyze literature and patent databases to assess patentability of inventions
- Assist with prosecution of patent applications under attorney supervision
- Prepare patent applications under attorney supervision
- Additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

- 0-3 years of patent experience, with a preference for post-doctoral or related experience
- Advanced scientific degree (., .) or Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline with relevant experience
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Technical writing skills
- Ability to maintain working relationships with others involved in a legal matter
- Sound judgement and inquiring disposition
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Strong scientific and technical knowledge
- Awareness of key sources for case law and preparing arguments
- Understanding of patent prosecution procedures, requirements, and lifecycle
- Basic knowledge of patentability, validity, and infringement concepts
- Ability to apply rules and guidelines within the Manual of Patent Examining Procedure
- Proficiency in conducting and evaluating basic patent and literature searches
- Ability to prepare key facts and observations for responses and opinions

Salary Information:

- Chicago, IL: $98,949 to $150,943
- Washington, DC: $103,252 to $157,505
- Boston, MA: $103,252 to $157,505
- Los Angeles, CA: $103,252 to $157,505
- San Francisco, CA: $107,554 to $164,068

*Note: This salary range is subject to change and may be supplemented with additional contingent compensation based on various factors.
