Practice Innovation and Knowledge Attorney (Corporate/Transactional) at Leading International Law Firm

Overview:
Paul Hastings, a top international law firm, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Practice Innovation and Knowledge Attorney to support certain corporate practice groups with their knowledge management and innovation needs. This role will be responsible for implementing and managing knowledge management and innovation projects and priorities, as well as promoting and encouraging the use of the firm's new Knowledge Management system within the practice area. The ideal candidate will have a background in Finance, Financial Restructuring, Investment Funds, and/or Energy and Infrastructure, as well as experience with knowledge management and legal innovation practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assess the knowledge needs of assigned practice areas and develop a plan to meet those needs
- Work closely with practice area lawyers to collect and update deal experience data and manage model documents, internal and client facing memoranda, and other knowledge assets
- Promote and contribute to internal knowledge collections and resources for practices, positioning the firm as a thought leader in transactional practices and legal innovation
- Provide direct support and training to individual practitioners in locating practice-related knowledge resources
- Initiate and coordinate legal knowledge projects and technologies in assigned practice areas
- Identify practice-related training needs and coordinate with attorneys and business development to design and deliver relevant training
- Collaborate with peers in other practice areas to exchange best practices in knowledge resources
- Identify practice pain-points and recommend legal technology solutions, contributing to the design and development of such solutions
- Evaluate emerging technologies and propose their potential applications in legal processes
- Support and collaborate with colleagues in the Practice Innovation & Legal Solutions Department to promote and support department-wide initiatives
- Foster relationships with industry peers, legal technology providers, and other stakeholders
- Attend conferences and events to stay updated on industry trends and best practices

Qualifications:

- Law degree and current bar admission (required)
- At least 5 years of law firm practitioner experience in Finance, Financial Restructuring, Investment Funds, and/or Energy and Infrastructure (preferred)
- Experience with knowledge management and/or legal innovation practices (preferred)
- Expert legal knowledge and practice skills in assigned practice areas
- Expert proficiency in English language and legal research techniques
- Familiarity with legal innovation and technology ecosystem
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal-specific technologies
- Familiarity with change management, project management, and process improvement
