A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of litigation experience for a role based in Washington .. The ideal applicant will be involved in a wide range of legal matters, including trial and appellate litigation, federal Indian law, tribal law, and related fields. Duties:

  • Represent clients in federal, state, and tribal courts for a variety of litigation matters.
  • Assist with trial preparation and strategy, including legal research, drafting motions, and preparing witnesses.
  • Support appellate work, including preparing briefs and managing filings.
  • Provide legal counsel on issues related to federal Indian law, tribal law, and other areas of law related to Native American interests.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop legal strategies and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Maintain client relationships, ensuring effective communication and responsiveness.
  • Contribute to the firm’s growth through business development efforts and thought leadership.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of litigation experience, including experience in federal, state, or tribal courts.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and provide creative solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • A commitment to serving Native American communities and advancing Native American legal interests.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the DC Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
  • Strong oral communication skills, with the ability to present legal arguments persuasively.
  • Knowledge of federal Indian law, tribal law, or related fields is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
