Duties:
- Draft and prosecute patent applications related to electrical engineering or a relevant engineering field.
- Conduct patent searching, patentability analysis, clearance analysis, and patent landscape analysis.
- Communicate effectively with clients, inventors, and colleagues regarding patent-related matters.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in patent law and relevant technologies.
- Provide legal advice and support on intellectual property issues.
Requirements:
- A degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering field with several electrical engineering courses is required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
- 3 years of experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications is preferred.
- Experience with computer-aided drafting/modeling programs is preferred.
- Curiosity to learn technologies outside of the field of study is a plus.
- Work experience in the electrical engineering field is preferred.
Education:
- A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering field is required.
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school focused on intellectual property law is preferred.
Certifications:
- Admission to the State Bar and registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required.
