This role requires managing client files, supervising contacts, and leading cases while handling multiple projects with precision.
Duties
- Provide expert legal advice on tax compliance, planning, and strategy.
- Manage and oversee client files, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries.
- Lead and supervise tax-related cases from inception to resolution.
- Develop and implement strategies for business growth, including building and maintaining a portable book of business.
- Handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining high responsiveness.
- Prepare and review tax returns, documents, and reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct research and provide legal opinions on complex tax issues.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored legal solutions.
- Stay current with tax law and regulation changes, and incorporate them into practice.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a law or public accounting firm with significant tax compliance experience.
- Proven ability to develop business, with a potential portable book of business preferred.
- Demonstrated capability to manage client files, lead cases, and supervise client contact.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines with exceptional attention to detail.
- Outstanding customer/client service skills.
Education
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Master of Laws (.) in Taxation is strongly preferred.
Certifications
- Admission to the Michigan Bar is required.
