Job Description:
- LegalHealth partners with medical professionals in 38 hospitals to address non-medical needs of low-income individuals with serious health problems
- Complements healthcare with legal care, providing free legal services and training for healthcare professionals
- Paralegal in this role will receive training and support the project attorney in a variety of legal issues
- Project Assist launched in December 2022 to provide legal services to family caregivers of older adults and adults with disabilities
- Goal is to partner with outpatient community organizations to address legal needs of family caregivers
- Staffed by one full-time attorney, seeking to add a paralegal to the project
- Many caregivers in need of legal services in areas of legal decision making and increasing household stability

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and maintaining a city-wide caregiver support legal helpline
- Perform direct client intakes via partner referrals and helpline
- Assist clients and project attorney with legal documents
- Advocate for clients within administrative agencies to navigate public benefits

Qualifications:
- 2 or 4 year college degree OR 2 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to work independently, with a team, and directly with clients
- Able to handle high case volume and interact with diverse client population in a sensitive and professional manner
- Excellent analytical skills to determine relevant legal issues for potential clients
- Bilingual in spoken and written Spanish preferred

- Current salary range for this position is between $51,289 - $55,449
