A law firm in Providence, RI, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate Attorney with a strong background in estate planning, elder law, probate/trust administration, and/or corporate commercial transactions. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work independently and have a commitment to providing exceptional client service.

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on estate planning, elder law, probate/trust administration, and corporate commercial transactions.
  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and corporate agreements.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel to clients on estate planning, elder law, and business transactions.
  • Represent clients in probate court, trust administration matters, and corporate transactions.
  • Assist clients with estate planning, including tax planning, asset protection, and succession planning.
  • Manage probate and trust administration cases from inception to completion.
  • Advise business clients on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and contract negotiation.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and exceptional service.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the Rhode Island Bar.
  • Admission to the Massachusetts Bar is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in estate planning, elder law, probate/trust administration, and/or corporate commercial transactions.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional client service.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Rhode Island State Bar.
  • Membership in the Massachusetts State Bar is a plus.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
  • Ability to draft clear and effective legal documents.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
