Job Title: Paralegal/Judicial Assistant to a Federal Circuit Judge
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive paralegal and administrative support to a Federal Circuit Judge.
- Assist in managing and organizing the judge’s caseload, including maintaining case files and tracking case progress.
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, summaries, and other legal documents.
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents and correspondence for the judge.
- Schedule and coordinate court hearings, meetings, and conferences.
- Serve as a liaison between the judge and other court personnel, attorneys, and the public.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the judge to ensure efficient court operations.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate from an accredited institution is typically required.
- Prior experience in a legal environment, particularly within the federal judiciary or in a role supporting a judge, is highly desirable.
- Strong research, writing, and organizational skills are essential.
- Proficiency in legal terminology, procedures, and documentation is necessary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
Salary Information:
- The position is classified under JSP 7 - JSP 11, with a salary range of $55,705 to $82,440.
- Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications, in accordance with federal pay scales.
