Venable LLP, a top-ranked American Lawyer Global 100 law firm, is seeking a patent agent with a background in aerospace engineering and engine technology to join our Patent Prosecution and Counseling group. This is a unique opportunity to work exclusively on patent prosecution matters in one of our offices located in Washington, ., New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, or San Francisco.

Qualifications:
- Registered patent agent with examining experience at the . PTO or patent drafting experience in a law firm setting
- Undergraduate and/or graduate degrees in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science
- Strong preference for previous experience as a patent examiner
- Industry experience is a plus
- Excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills, and sharp analytical ability

Responsibilities:
- Use deep technical knowledge to work exclusively on patent prosecution matters
- Advise clients on maximizing the value of their intellectual property portfolios
- Reinforced by a strong corps of patent strategists and patent litigators
- Opportunity to work with domestic and international clients in all areas of corporate and business law, complex litigation, intellectual property, regulatory matters, and government affairs

Salary:
- Salary range for patent agent positions is $112,000 to $225,000, depending upon years of experience with patent prosecution
