Perkins Coie LLP, a nationally recognized law firm, is seeking a highly motivated Patent Prosecution Paralegal to join our team in multiple locations across the United States. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work with our esteemed Intellectual Property group and assist with all phases of . patent prosecution matters. We are looking for an individual with experience and understanding in this field, including preparing and filing patent applications, conducting legal research, and managing client portfolios.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

- Prepare and file patent and design applications and prosecution documents via the USPTO electronic filing system
- Communicate with clients, government agencies, and other parties to collect and assemble information and communicate findings
- Manage a docket and track deadlines, including monitoring and following up with appropriate parties
- Client portfolio management, including preparing and maintaining status reports
- Maintain current knowledge of . and PCT rules related to patent prosecution practice
- Assist with client transfers and review of chain of title

Required Skills and Experience:

- Thorough knowledge of . and PCT patent prosecution processes and procedures
- Familiarity with international procedures and managing foreign deadlines
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to establish effective working relationships and handle multiple assignments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software

Education and Qualifications:

- Minimum of five years of recent experience as a patent prosecution secretary or paralegal in a law firm or in-house legal department
- Paralegal certificate or bachelor's degree preferred

Salary Information and Benefits:

- Annual discretionary bonus

The compensation for this position will vary based on qualifications and experience, and the salary ranges for each location are as follows:

- San Francisco Bay Area: $72,380 to $130,290 annually
- Los Angeles: $66,040 to $118,880 annually
- San Diego: $65,200 to $117,370 annually
- Washington State: $59,820 to $107,680 annually

Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for employers and the California Fair Chance Act.
