Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Housing Finance Associate to join our Finance Department at Ballard Spahr LLP in our Minneapolis office. Our ideal candidate will have at least two to four years of legal experience in commercial real estate finance and strong academic credentials. This is a hybrid position with the expectation of working in the office approximately three days per week.

Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support and advice to clients on commercial real estate finance matters
- Work on transactions involving multifamily lenders, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA
- Assist with emerging market opportunities, structured finance, and preferred equity originations
- Handle commercial loan servicing, including non-performing loans
- Conduct legal research and draft legal documents and agreements
- Communicate with clients and colleagues in a professional and effective manner
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments and changes in laws and regulations

Qualifications:
- Active bar license in Minnesota is preferred
- 2-4 years of legal experience in commercial real estate finance
- Strong academic credentials from an accredited law school
- Experience with multifamily lenders, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
