International Trade Associate - Law Firm - Washington, DC

Law Firm is seeking a mid-level associate for our Washington, DC office with at least 4 years of experience in export controls (EAR, ITAR), OFAC/economic sanctions, international trade and/or CFIUS. Government experience is a plus.

We are looking for strong applicants who have excellent written and oral communication skills, high attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines. This is a client-facing role with significant responsibility. All candidates should have excellent professional references.

Job Description



  • Advise clients on export controls, economic sanctions, international trade, and CFIUS regulations

  • Conduct research on international trade regulations

  • Assist in the preparation of applications and other submissions to government agencies

  • Draft and review contracts, licensing agreements, and other documents related to international trade

  • Provide advice on export controls, economic sanctions, international trade, and CFIUS regulations

  • Assist in the development of export compliance policies and procedures

  • Provide training on export controls, economic sanctions, international trade, and CFIUS regulations

  • Assist in the development of export compliance programs

  • Conduct due diligence reviews related to international trade

  • Monitor and analyze changes in the laws related to international trade

  • Identify and advise clients on risks related to international trade

  • Work with other departments to ensure compliance with international trade laws



Qualifications



  • . from an accredited law school

  • At least 4 years of experience in export controls (EAR, ITAR), OFAC/economic sanctions, international trade and/or CFIUS

  • Government experience is a plus

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines
