Academic Year Clerkship The candidates in addition to research and legal writing, may have the opportunity to work in depth with prosecutors on specific cases, interview witnesses and appear in court. Work side-by-side with attorneys and can apply the knowledge they learn in law school. The summer clerkship includes the opportunity to observe court hearings, conduct legal research, attend office trainings, produce legal writings, and possibly participate in court hearings. Summer clerks work 32 – 40 hours a week. Work for Civil Division - Assist Deputy County Attorneys who provide legal advice to the officials of Douglas County and prosecute and defend Douglas County in civil litigation in state and federal administrative and judicial forums.
