The Senior Paralegal will handle complex, multi-faceted small claims complaints and lower risk healthcare lawsuits, respond to third-party subpoenas, and assist in the litigation discovery process. This individual will partner with internal counsel, external law firms, and data consultants to ensure efficient and effective resolution of legal matters. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and coordinate resolution of complex, multi-faceted, small claims complaints and lower risk healthcare related lawsuits with external counsel • Respond to third-party subpoenas in collaboration with external counsel • Organize and track document processing, review, and production for litigation cases • Act as a liaison between in-house legal counsel, cross-functional business partners, and external third parties (. law firms, data consultants, e-discovery vendors) for litigation support and discovery • Partner with internal counsel to define document and data collection scope • Distribute legal hold notices to custodians and track follow-ups • Handle special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline or 5-8 years of relevant experience as a litigation paralegal • Certification in paralegal studies and/or e-discovery practice preferred • Experience working in an in-house legal department required • Familiarity with eDiscovery and data collection processes and working with outside vendors • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment • Must be team-oriented and able to maintain confidentiality • Ownership mentality and flexibility in adapting to change *Hybrid work arrangement (1/2 work weeks in-office): Candidate must be located within a 50-mile radius near a Cigna office – Preferably 1) St. Louis, MO; 2) Philadelphia, PA; or 3) Bloomfield, CT.
