# Legal Assistant at Shannon & Wright LLP Shannon & Wright LLP is actively seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to provide a variety of support services in their Old Town Alexandria or downtown Leesburg office locations. This position entails direct client interaction and requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written. The ideal candidate is a versatile team player who can effectively organize and prioritize tasks in a busy, professional environment. ## Responsibilities The Legal Assistant will be responsible for: - Greeting incoming calls and guests in a timely and professional manner; - Managing the firm’s client intake process and conducting potential client screenings; - Conducting Conflict Checks for potential new clients; - Setting up new clients in the firm’s legal software database; - Case file management to include opening, maintaining, and closing client files; - Managing electronic calendars and shared inboxes; - Coordinating conference rooms and meeting schedules; - Processing incoming mail and packages, coordinating courier pick up and deliveries; scheduling court reporters; - Drafting engagement letters and legal correspondence; - Conducting legal research as needed; - Ensuring timely entry of time and billing details daily; - Managing the inventory and ordering of office supplies; - Keeping reception, conference rooms and kitchen neat and professional throughout the day; - Supporting the goals of the firm and special projects as needed. ## Qualifications - Minimum two years providing legal support services; - Working knowledge and familiarity with legal processes and local court procedures; - Excellent verbal and written communication skills; - Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail; - Professional office experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe; - Ability to multitask, be flexible, think on your feet, and adapt to changing priorities; - Teamwork mentality.
