Location: St. Louis, MO. Job Description: The Thompson Coburn Law Firm is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant with experience in Intellectual Property, specifically in the area of Patent law. This full-time non-exempt position is located in our St. Louis office and offers a dynamic and collaborative work environment. Responsibilities: - Provide specialized support to the Patent group, including understanding internal and external patent practices, procedures, and requirements. - Assist with all aspects of patent prosecution, including preparing and filing applications, responses, and other documents. - Provide legal administrative support to assigned timekeepers, including calendaring and drafting legal documents. - Work with Firm IP Docketing team to ensure IP Department-specific databases are updated. - Prepare and file documents with the USPTO. - Review, proof, edit, and process client billing statements. Requirements: - Must have the ability to navigate various patent databases, including the USPTO. - Familiarity with trademark, copyright, and patent processes and procedures. - Knowledge of the patent prosecution process, terminology, and associated deadlines. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office software in a legal environment. Experience and Education Qualifications: - Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate Degree preferred. - Minimum 2 years of legal experience in Intellectual Property; 3-5 years preferred.
