Job Overview:
A growing law firm in Astoria, NY is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join their Commercial Litigation Department. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience, with a strong background in Construction Law, including representing general contractors, sub-contractors, owners, developers, architects, and engineers. Experience with AIA contracts and Mechanic's Liens is essential. Location:

Duties:
- Manage and handle commercial litigation cases, focusing on construction law.
- Represent clients, including general contractors, subcontractors, owners, developers, architects, and engineers.
- Draft, review, and negotiate construction-related contracts, including AIA contracts.
- Handle Mechanic's Lien issues and related litigation.
- Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery.
- Advise clients on legal matters related to construction disputes and transactions.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and development.
- Appear in court and handle depositions, settlement negotiations, and other litigation-related activities.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial litigation, with a focus on construction law.
- Strong experience representing general contractors, sub-contractors, owners, developers, architects, and engineers.
- Proficiency in handling Mechanic's Liens and AIA contracts.
- Experience in both litigation and transactional work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload and work independently.
- High level of professionalism and integrity in client relationships.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active Bar membership in New York.
Certifications:
- Active member of the New York State Bar.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of commercial litigation, particularly in construction law.
- Experience with contract negotiation and drafting.
- Ability to effectively represent clients in litigation and manage case strategy.
- Proficiency in legal research and document preparation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
