This position requires prior experience as a workers' compensation paralegal and offers competitive salary and benefits. As a paralegal at our firm, you will play a vital role in assisting our attorneys with the handling of workers' compensation cases. Responsibilities: - Communicate with clients to obtain information for and in preparation of discovery and litigation - Manage attorneys' calendars and scheduling order deadlines - Schedule depositions and other case-related events - Prepare for hearings by drafting pleadings, exhibits, and coordinating witness interviews - Assist with mediation submissions - Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, and discovery responses - Organize affidavits and exhibits - Request medical bills and records from providers - Prepare summaries of medical records - Review and evaluate incoming discovery and Rule 607 documentation - Assist attorneys in preparing settlement demand packages - Organize and maintain client information and files - Conduct legal research and prepare memorandums and briefs - Coordinate expert witnesses and investigators Qualifications: - Associate degree required; bachelor's degree preferred - Minimum of two years' experience as a paralegal in a workers' compensation law firm or insurance defense firm (plaintiff's side experience preferred) - Experience working on complex workers' compensation claims - Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills Benefits: - Competitive salary based on experience - Medical, dental, and vision insurance - Base life insurance paid by the firm with supplemental option - Short and long-term disability paid by the firm - 401(k) with match - Paid time off, holidays, and volunteer time off - Education and gym reimbursement Equal Opportunity Statement: DeMayo Law Offices is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in our workplace.
