Intellectual Property Paralegal - Atlanta or Houston - Salary Information Law Firm: King & Spalding LLP Department: Paralegal Services Department Job Title: Intellectual Property Paralegal Experience: 5-10 years Location: Atlanta or Houston Overview The Intellectual Property Paralegal position at King & Spalding LLP provides patent prosecution support for lawyers working on patent issues in various industries. The individual will work independently in a computer-based environment, follow client and team guidelines, maintain positive client contact, and maintain confidentiality. This position is available in either the Atlanta or Houston office and reports to the Paralegal Services Department. Key Responsibilities - Assisting in preparation of patent application documents, including electronic filing and managing deadlines - Managing timely payment of maintenance fees for patents and corresponding with foreign counsel for new filings and deadlines - Conducting database searches for patent, assignment, and security lien status for due diligence purposes - Responding to client requests and maintaining patent status charts - Maintaining a close relationship with clients Qualifications - Bachelor's degree with a cumulative GPA preferred; paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved school preferred - 5-10 years of patent prosecution experience in a mid- to large-size law firm - Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe - Strong communication and written skills - Ability to work overtime, including weekends, and travel as needed - Able to lift boxes up to 20 lbs. and sit or stand for long periods of time Company Culture King & Spalding LLP is a global law firm with over 2,000 lawyers and business professionals in 24 offices.
