A law firm seeks a motivated and skilled Junior Patent Litigation Associate to join its expanding Intellectual Property practice group in Washington, . The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in complex litigation, particularly in patent defense. A self-starter with excellent writing abilities, an independent working style, and a strong advocacy presence are essential for success in this role.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in patent litigation cases, handling all aspects of the defense process.
  • Draft and revise legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and briefs with precision.
  • Conduct legal research to assist in the development of case strategies.
  • Assist in managing discovery, reviewing documents, and preparing for depositions.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys in trial preparation and strategy formulation.
  • Participate in client communications, providing strategic advice and updates.
  • Contribute to settlement discussions and negotiations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in complex patent litigation.
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to communicate complex legal issues effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and strong client service orientation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in the jurisdiction of practice (District of Columbia).

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research, analysis, and writing abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
